Other Event Information

What to do to be Prepared:

How do you finish 21k? You can run, jog, walk or crawl. We don’t care as long as you get there. Unfortunately, for liability reasons, no bikes, skateboards or rollerblades are allowed.

Are Jogger strollers allowed? Well, 21k for the kiddies might be a little much, unless you don’t mind hearing “How much longer?” for a couple hours. Here’s the awesome news! Santa’s Village will be providing daycare for the event so you can focus on your race, personal goals and you!

Bring your children and whole family!  They can enjoy the Village while your race and cheer you while you finish!

Be sure to train with us at Muskoka Fitness and Personal Training so you can be in the best shape of your life and cross the finish line.  From running clinics and coaching, to personal training, Muskoka Fitness has all you need!

What to Bring:

Bring the obvious – running/walking shoes, gear depending on weather, your bib number.

Plus remember to bring a warm change of clothing so you can enjoy the post-event festivities.

Special Instructions:

We can only accommodate 500 participants so register early.

I’m unable to open up the PDF file that talks about the Sept 4th half marathon. I would like more information before I register.
    Thank you.
    Cathy

    • Andre says:

Hey Cathy, I believe the link is working now. If you have any more questions please give us a call. We are really looking forward to this years event.

      Andre!

  2. Wendy says:

Has anyone mapped out the 1/2 marathon route? I searched Map My Run but nothing came up. Would like to check out the route but can’t seem to find one of the roads identified on the PDF.

    • Andre says:

      Hi Wendy!
We’ve already mapped out the route and I will be uploading it shortly. (I’m sorry it’s not already available. )
I’ll post it here by the end of the week.

      Andre!

    • Andre says:

      Hey Wendy.
Just added the route to Map my Run. The PDF has an error which I just noticed. The route is – Santa’s Village Road – Wellington – Beamont –

      Hope this helps.

      Andre!!

  3. Kelly says:

Is there a time limit? Is walking permitted?

  4. Erika says:

Is this a chip timed event?

    • Andre says:

      Great question Erika!

Yes! chip timing will be used for this event. We’re excited that both the 21k and 5k run will have that available.

      Andre!!

  5. Cam says:

Does anyone know what the winning time for the 21km last year

  6. Louise Choquette says:

I noticed that the 5 k race starts at 9:30. It sounds like you want us to pick up the registration kits by 7:15 a.m. Hopefully, you will accommodate out-of-town runners by having a later pick-up time for the 5 k runners, correct?

    • Andre says:

      Hi Louise
You’ve pointed out a great issue! I’ve missed typed the start time for the 5k on the downloadable PDF. AHH! If you go to the last minute details page you’ll notice that the 5k in fact starts at 7:45. As soon as I send you this message, I’ll make the necessary changes to the PDF. Make sure you check the last minute details page as we get nearer.

  7. jennifer Rosewarne says:

I am registered for the 1/2 marathon and have sustained a minor injury. Can I run the 5 k instead? How would I proceed to do so? thank you.

    • Andre says:

Of course. I hope that your injury heals quickly. Good for you changing distances and keeping your injury to only ‘minor’

I’ll make the change on the registration for you. I’ll make sure things are settled and will find you the morning of the run. Good luck!

  8. Andy Shaughnessy says:

Great event! You helped me accomplish a half marathon at the 40+ weight loss point. I’ll be back next year with my family and friends — we had eight of us out today. I have a pretty big social network of followers, some of whom were looking for a link to make donations. Pls consider a link for next year: I’m sure the cancer societies you are supporting will happily help you. Many thanks to all of you for your over the top efforts! Best, A

  9. Damon W says:

I’d like to send a special note to Shirley Elford – all the best this coming Friday with your next round of treatment.
It was a pleasure to run a portion of the 1/2 with your daughter Ann, who told me your about health, your spirit and in knowing this made me more determined to finish strong. Keep strong Shirley.
Also of note; your daughter is a great runner. All the best to you all, I am very pleased to be part of a such a great event.

  10. Andre says:

    Hey Holly,
All proceeds from registration will go to the cancer funds, and there is an option when you register to include donations. I will forward some fundraising information to you shortly.

Sorry about the delay in response.

  11. Andre says:

    Hi Andy.

I’ve made a online map of the course through ‘map my run’. The course is along the river and is fairly flat, shady, and has about 50′ in elevation change throughout.

    Hope this helps :)

Also, I’m not sure which PDF you’re having difficulty opening?

Thank you so much for your questions.

    Andre!!

  12. Andre says:

    Hi Karyn.
I’m trying to resolve the PDF issue. I will forward it to you directly and will be updating the info on the site.

You can email me directly at andre@muskokafitness.com
